I am proud to announce that I am running for the New York State Assembly, 102nd District, which includes the Towns of Clinton, Fishkill, Hyde Park, LaGrange, Poughkeepsie, and Wappinger.

We deserve our fair share.

Our towns need more.

We can do better!

Over the last five years, Hudson Valley Assembly members have brought home more tax dollars to their districts than Joel Miller, much more. A neighboring Assemblyman brought $1.6 million dollars to his district; but not Joel Miller - he brought back only $130,000.

In 2007, Dutchess County should have received $7 million dollars in additional school aid from the $100 million allocated by the State budget; instead $70 million went toward Long Island schools, while Dutchess received only $600,000.

The challenges facing our communities, our State are numerous and non-partisan. We require leadership to effect change, implement policy and enact legislation in the Assembly.

And we need change:

*Affordable Quality Healthcare

*Protection for seniors from catastrophic effects chronic illness have on families and finances

*Campaign Finance Reform

*Nonpartisan Redistricting

*Expanded Employment Opportunities through Green Technologies
